I attended the KJLH Women’s Health Forum event last year and it was absolutely wonderful… it was kind of like the “My Black Is Beautiful” event but it includes a health break out session with a panel of health professionals discussing important issues in the African American community. There will be lots of food and health-related vendors (I hope Derrik’s Jamaican Restaurant is there again, lol), booths to get your blood pressure checked or get your HIV screening done. Lots of free stuff… goodies!! I encourage every female, both young and old, to attend this event and GO EARLY to get all the free services. As always, the L.A. Convention Center has free street parking.
